For your blog assignment this week you are to describe a vivid childhood memory - you might think of the first time you rode a school bus, of a time when you went to the Principal's office, of a first encounter with a friend, of a first A on a test or paper, of the first time you earned money to buy something you really wanted, and so on. Describe events, people, and places related to the childhood memory so that your reader will be able to feel they are there with you and they will be able to understand why the event was important and memorable
During my childhood summer days I would spend every waking moment with my dear friend Lee. As I grew up he was a person I really looked up too. Each morning I would wake up around 6 a.m, get dressed and run down the street to his house. By the time I got there he would have most of the things out that we would be using for the day. The first thing we would do is get tiller to the field were I can remember riding on the front for hours during the morning. As I got older and taller, then it was me working the ground. After we would work the ground we would begin to make our rows. Using hand tools and shovels we'd work till all the rows were nice and neat. By this time it was either noon or a little past and time to head back to the house for some lunch. His wife always had a good home cooked meal on the table waiting for us. After we would finish the meal we would help clean up, and then it was time to head back to the Fields. We would then start with the long process of seeding the ground. We also did this by hand. One or two seeds at a time for the remainder of the day. As we were just about finished for the day his wife would always bring us something cold to drink. Now that all the work was done it was always time to relax and have a bit of fun. There was always something to do after the work was done. Some days we would go out into the woods and do a little rabbit hunting. That was always fun. I remember when I shot my first rabbit. I still have its foot in a box. Other days we would go fishing, which was never really good, cause I could never catch anything, still to this day I don't catch nothing when I fish. One other thing we would do is take the boat out on the river and just float for the rest of the day. Those were some of the best days.
